Laxton's Apple Trees
Mowsbury Hillfort > Laxton
Founded in 1888, the Laxton Brothers were notable horticulturists, pioneers of plant breeding and experts on fruit production. The sons of Thomas Laxton, Edward and William were educated at Bedford Modern School. The orchard at Mowsbury Hillfort has examples of Laxton apple, pear and other fruit trees.
