Small Balsam, more like Epic Balsam
Some people may think that the sways of Small Balsam in Putnoe Wood may look glorious with its dark green leaves and small yellow flowers but it’s an invasive non native plant that can out compete other UK native woodland plants. So it’s down to us to try and control its spread. It always feels like a never ending seasonal task as it appears to grow faster than you can pull or cut it.
