Mr Kamikaze mower man
It’s been what you may call a very trying week. A Mr Kamikaze mower man has rampaged his way through Mowsbury Hill Meadow , the Courtyard Meadow and the orchard. Nothing it would appear was spared from his task of mowermania path cutting. One of the most upsetting consequences of his actions was the sways of destruction in the orchard. For years we had managed and controlled the Hogweed allowing this year the right conditions for a multitude of Spotted Orchids to bloom only for their blooms to be prematurely terminated. We have not counted the amount or variety of flora that has been lost for this year but we can only hope they will be back for next year. We do not know as yet from which planet Mr Kamikaze comes from but hopefully we can manage the problem for next year. He definitely was not a cut above the rest.
Lets be positive, although it was pretty warm up at the hillfort this afternoon everyone enjoyed swanning around with the tasks at hand. The butterfly transect was carried out and we tinkerd around with a little clearing of excess growth around pond two and three. Happy days.
